Yuka Ijichi - Peanuts Butter
One needs merely
to gaze at the cover art and listen to the first chords to find himself floating
through space alongside fish bones and clew balls (a kitty's dream!!). The high, airy and buoyant voice
offered by psych-folk artist Yuka Ijichi (occasionally accompanied by the more
subtle vocals of Hiiragi Fukuda) invites us to a dreamy land of folky and
spacey guitars. Doronco, ex-bassist from the Japanese noise rock band Les
Rallizes Dénudés, has allowed himself to switch his famous biting guitar for a more
jaunty acoustic twee sound.
Recorded on tape, this original combination of gentle echoes sung in an exotic language makes this a perfect album to listen in dim light.

Peanuts Butter! Another great suggestion by the underground
label Sloow Tapes.
